Cursor red flags & complaints

Verified public risk signal level for Cursor: none (as of August 28, 2026).

No longer an early-stage risk: Anysphere (Cursor's parent) was acquired by SpaceX for $60B in an all-stock deal closing 2026-08-14, the largest startup acquisition on record. Remaining watch item is product-direction uncertainty under new ownership, not financial viability.

What customers criticise (separate from risk signals)

Adopting Cursor requires switching your primary code editor, a significant hurdle for many developers and teams with established workflows and plugin ecosystems. The SpaceX acquisition also introduces uncertainty about long-term product priorities as it is folded into a much larger, differently-focused parent company.
